Not only can our customers design unique and personal window fashions for their home, they can now find textiles designed by renowned professionals who add even that much more excitement to the overall look. One such textile designer is Seema Krish, a Design Studio Featured Artist. Read on to learn about the partnership and Seema’s delightful designs.

About Seema Krish

Based in San Francisco, Seema’s designs are inspired by her Bangladeshi roots. She focuses on designing her textiles with intention, honoring the tradition of handmade, heirloom textiles. She blends traditional techniques with modern appeal, to result in extraordinarily colored fabrics that honor India’s heritage of block printing, hand embroidery, and weaving. Her luxurious textiles display vivid colors, dimensional design, and bold style. “I have been fortunate to experience many places around me,” she noted, “and I find it’s always the light that inspires me.” That inspiration makes her designs perfect for a collaboration with Hunter Douglas window fashions, because each window treatment is a work designed to enhance the light.

Seven Custom Textiles

Seema has produced seven designs unique to Hunter Douglas, including two signature embroideries. You can choose these fabrics as drapery, side panels, custom Roman shades, custom roller shades, and Fabrics by the Yard. The options include:

  • Woodlands. This fabric is all about nature, with a nod to natural landscape and trees. Using both printing and embroidery techniques, it adds dimension at the window.
  • Floret. This fabric is an artistic interpretation of traditional Japanese shibori resist-dying techniques. It displays a bold and graphic flower shape that will draw the eye in any room.
  • Intersection. This diagonal plaid is inspired by a foggy day in San Francisco. The painterly effect and hazy lines are a great complement to solid fabrics and flooring.
  • Straits. With varying widths of a monochrome stripe, this fabric is bold yet relaxing, offering a comforting appeal to any room.
Waves. You can almost feel the movement of the ocean by looking at this fabric, which gives a lyrical and serene feel to a window.
  • Reflections. Ready for both a contemporary or modern space, this fabric is reminiscent of a watercolor painting. Its intentional irregularity mimics light and shadow.
  • Tangle. This fabric will add a sense of climbing vines next to your window, bringing that feeling of nature to your room. It offers depth and drama and will stand out in your space.
