Roman Shades
A classic un-pleated fabric shade, Roman shades have been a mainstay in window fashions for decades. Custom, quality craftsmanship includes a large, smooth fold; an innovative cording system for enhanced child safety; and stiff battens to provide structure. There are also sewn tunnels that keep battens from slipping out as well as clear rings that coordinate with all linings and sheers. Plus, all hems are double-turned for a custom finished look, and the bottom hems are weighted for a smooth appearance.
Pleated Shades
If you want privacy but not utter darkness in your room, pleated shades are a good choice. People love pleated shades for the large variety of colors and fabrics. With these shades, the fabric is folded into pleats that are held together with a string that operates the shade up and down. However, that creates the downside to pleated shades: the strings and the holes the strings go through can let in unwanted light.
