About Banded Shades
Known also as layered shades (and sometimes zebra shades), banded shades are a nuanced window fashion that elevates the look and functionality of a traditional horizontal blind or roller shade. Banded shades combine two layers of shade in one treatment: one sheer and one solid. With Hunter Douglas designer banded shades, you can choose from small, medium, and large band heights to suit your needs—if you want more view-through, choose a larger band height. These shades come in a variety of fabrics, from light-filtering to room-darkening, and in numerous colors. And if you want something a little unexpected and with a more modern flair, choose the geometric pattern versus the standard band. To control light and privacy, simply shift the solid and sheer fabrics: when solid aligns with solid, you have more light and view-through; when solid aligns with sheer, it’s the same as a closed window shade.

If you have multiple windows in one room, don’t worry about an uneven appearance, because the bands can align on adjacent windows, giving you a clean, consistent look throughout the room.
