Acrylic Countertops
Some people also refer to acrylic countertops as solid surface countertops. These tops are made with a thicker piece of acrylic, about 1/2", again laid over plywood. The color is the same throughout the top so any scratches can be buffed or sanded out. Another nice thing is that if done properly the seams are almost invisible. This also gives you the ability to use an integrated sink, which is an acrylic sink combined with the countertop without any visible seams.
